Reacting to the reviews, Jana Nayagan director H Vinoth recently said he does not pay much attention to reviews and prefers to focus only on genuine feedback. He told NDTV, “I haven’t read most of the reviews. Moreover, we need to look at which is a paid review and which is a genuine one – in today’s age of PR culture, where there is organised influencer marketing that extends to reviews, we need to assess what is real.”
He added, “If there is genuine feedback, I’ll definitely accept it. From day one, I knew Jana Nayagan was a complete commercial entertainer, and we have a reference movie (Bhagavanth Kesari) too. Any review should see how we have made Jana Nayagan in relation to that instead of judging it as a new film. In today’s world, it’s become difficult to find out which journalist is being honest, and I don’t want to mentally stress myself over that.”
Besides Vijay, the political action drama also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.

SCREEN Opinion | Why Vijay’s ‘propaganda film’ makes even Sura and Villu look like masterpieces
Jana Nayagan, Vijay’s supposed swansong, is a disappointing film that fails to live up to its hype. Director H Vinoth’s attempt to glorify the superstar and his political ambitions results in a poorly crafted film that does a disservice to the actor’s fans. The movie’s shoddy execution and lack of substance make it a forgettable watch, despite its star-studded cast and high production value. Read More

Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 5 Updates: Why only one half of Vijay’s film works
Director H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan is a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari, and it features his own vision and elements like a villain, politics, and AI warfare, along with a farewell for Vijay. The first half, where Vijay holds a frightened girl’s hand and slowly builds her confidence, works. That is the Ravipudi half.
The second half, where Bobby Deol commands a robot army in a fictional African country rendered through AI while the film delivers democracy lectures from what feels like a campaign stage, does not work. That is the H Vinoth half. Read More
