SRINAGAR: A viral video shows a female tourist shouting, “We are Gen-Z and we won’t tolerate this nonsense” from Minimarg checkpoint in Kargil, Ladakh.According to police sources, the incident took place July 25, when the movement of the defense minister and Army chief along the Zojila-Gumri route led to traffic restrictions in the area.A senior police official said the defense minister and Army chief were scheduled to travel by air, but bad weather forced them to fly by helicopter to Gumri, from where they traveled by road toward Kargil.Traffic was stopped to facilitate their movement, resulting in a delay for tourists and others, police sources said. The woman was seen arguing angrily with security personnel at the checkpoint and insisting that they were tourists, not Kashmiris who, she said, were subjected to such restrictions. The footage has since gone viral, prompting a debate over tourist behavior at border checkpoints.Police sources said the tourists were allowed to proceed after the VIP movement passed through the area.
