US strikes hit a watchtower in Iran’s southeastern port city of Chabahar as Washington intensified its military campaign, with attacks reported across multiple parts of the country amid rapidly escalating tensions between the two nations.Iranian state media reported that the watchtower in Chabahar, located in Sistan and Baluchestan province on the Gulf of Oman, was among the targets struck during the latest wave of US attacks. Authorities also reported heavy strikes in the province, where Iran’s Health Ministry said more than 260 people were wounded in overnight attacks, indicating a significant escalation in the conflict.Elsewhere, Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozafari said four locations in the western port city were struck by the US military on Tuesday. According to the official IRNA news agency, the attacks caused no casualties.“Rescue agencies are currently alert, and calm is prevailing in the city,” Mozafari said.Iran’s army also accused the United States of launching 13 missiles at a military barracks in Bampur, near Iranshahr, before dawn on Wednesday. The strike targeted accommodation buildings and guard posts, killing seven military personnel, including career soldiers and conscripts, while wounding several others.“The retaliation for the blood of the martyrs of this crime is certain and imminent,” the army said, adding that it would deliver a “decisive response” to the attack.Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said on X that more than 30 civilians had been killed in recent strikes across southern Iran.Meanwhile, the US military reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports early Wednesday following Tehran’s attacks on vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command said it carried out another wave of strikes lasting seven hours, targeting dozens of sites across Iran.Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that the blockade could disrupt regional energy exports, saying: “The export of oil and gas from the region will be either for everyone or for no one.”
