GURGAON: Victim Sia, whose two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a car on Golf Course Road on Sunday, said she had posted a video of the incident the same night and alleged that police action was delayed despite the footage being widely broadcast on news channels.“The incident took place on Sunday morning and I posted the video same night. The video was played widely on news channels but I believe (police) action was delayed. Everything was visible in the video, that how he hit me intentionally, ” Sia told news agency PTI.“It is not a matter of male or female, there are several males with such bad mentality. They take somethings on their ego and then take steps like this person did. They were chasing, harassing me and asked me to stop. But when I didn’t stop, they hit me and fled,” she said.Meanwhile, Kalyan Bainsla, the car driver accused of hitting Sia, was arrested from Rajgarh in Rajasthan on Tuesday, police said.The arrest came two days after his speeding car allegedly rammed into her Aprilia RS 457, sending her skidding on the road.Haryana State Women Commission chairperson Usha Priyadarshini said the commission took immediate cognisance of the incident and spoke to the police and the victim.“The Commission took immediate cognisance of the matter. We spoke to the SHO of Sector 55-56 Police Station and later to ACP Amit Bhatia. By then, details of the incident had emerged. The video clearly showed a young man stalking the girl, “Haryana State Women Commission Chairperson Usha Priyadarshini told news agency ANI.She said the video showed the accused stalking the woman and alleged that he had been harassing her for some time.“I also spoke to her personally, and she informed me that the accused had been stalking and harassing her for some time… This is a serious hit-and-run case on Golf Course Road. We have taken the matter very seriously, and the police have initiated action… The police have registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder). The accused, identified as Kalyan Baisla from Palwal, has been apprehended and arrested. We have instructed the police to ensure the safety of our daughters and sisters so that such incidents do not happen in the future, ” she added.(With agency inputs)
