At a presser, a student leader said, “The Jharkhand government is spreading lies that it fulfilled 98 per cent of our demands. It cancelled only 3 of 13 exams sought by us.”The protesters are demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in all recruitment exams conducted by the state. Student leader Ravindra Paswan accused the government of insisting on a CID probe, which he claimed was known for “cover-ups”.The students said their protest would remain “peaceful and democratic” and warned that they would not allow anti-social elements to disrupt the agitation. They also appealed to parents to support their children and urged political parties to extend moral support without putting any political banner on the protest. The protest entered its 17th day on Monday.
