Meta AI CEO Alexandr Wang recently made headlines for his outfit onto the Meta Connect stage. Rather than a polished tech suit, the tech CEO wore a deer-print camouflage T-shirt, dark trousers and camouflage Crocs. While many criticised Wang’s his casual wear, others started doing a fashion price check. A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) allegedly claimed that Alexandr Wang was actually wearing a £600 ($800) Hermès ‘hunter classic shirt’, £900 ($1,200) Loro Piana trousers and £1,125 ($1,500) Ferragamo shoes. Put together, the outfit supposedly cost £2,625 ($3,500). Wang was quick to “correct the record”.

Responding to the post by X user Goltra @Goltra, the Meta’s AI chief said: “excuse me I must correct the record on this slander”. He also shared an annotated photo correcting the record with actual prices: $30 thrifted camo tee, $150 Norrona cargo pants, $60 Realtree Crocs, and hair from “putting his head in a washing machine”.In another playful reply to a compliment on his improved fitness to a similar post, Wang wrote: “actually if you say i look fit i don’t care how much you lie about how much my clothes cost”.

The shirt worn by Alexandr Wang appears to be a vintage-style camouflage top with deer prints on the front and “Lake Tahoe” printed on the sleeve. Similar 1990s “Back to Earth” shirts have been listed on the second-hand market for £11 to £34 ($14 to $45).
