NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband at a hotel in Delhi’s Lahori Gate area, following a family dispute, police said.The man later allegedly consumed poison in an apparent suicide attempt and remains under treatment at a hospital.The couple had been married for around six months. The woman, a native of Bihar, worked at a beauty parlour in Delhi, while her husband, from Rajasthan, ran a tea stall there.The husband had come to Delhi on Wednesday and met his wife at Hotel Prince, where the couple checked in at around 3.30pm, police said.According to investigators, the man allegedly stabbed his wife three times during the night following a family dispute. He then allegedly consumed a poisonous substance.Hotel staff alerted police on Thursday morning after finding the woman lying in a pool of blood inside the room.According to a police statement, Lahori Gate Police Station received information on Thursday morning about a man and a woman found unconscious at Hotel Prince.“A police team immediately reached the spot, where a woman was found lying unconscious with multiple stab injuries. A man was also found unconscious at the same location,” police said.Both were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman was declared brought dead, while the man remains under treatment, police said.The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
