Bigg Boss Tamil Contestants List for Season 10: Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi has officially launched Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 and welcomed the new contestants into the house. During a colourful opening ceremony on Sunday, September 6, he introduced all 19 contestants to the show’s fans.
Vijay commenced the ceremony by noting that Bigg Boss Tamil has reached a milestone, entering its 10th year, and thanked superstar Kamal Haasan, who hosted the show during the first seven years. He then gave the audience a tour of the house before inviting the contestants.
Actor Lakshmi Priya was the first to enter the show. Best known for her performance in the Tamil drama television series Mahanadhi, she has also appeared in movies such as Panni Kutty, Pathu Thala, and The Road. She was soon joined by actor Shathiga, best known for her roles in Naan Mahaan Alla, Nenjil Thunivirunthal, and Vezham.
The remaining contestants who entered the reality television programme are: Prithivinath, Javeed Sheriff, Shama, Muniyammal, Jason Kaushi, actor Muthazhagi, makeup artist Asmitha Neelamegam, actor Avinash Ashok, actor “Black” Pandi, actor-writer Vinothbabu M, actor Chandini Tamilarasan, Savinya Velu, actor Kumaran Thangarajan, actor-dancer Raaghav Ranganathan, social media content creator Dhanya Pallath, television actor-comedian Mohammed “Adavadi” Ansar, and actor Mukesh MK.
The process was different this time, as the audience got to be part of the selection process. Each time, Vijay invited two or three contestants, introduced them to the audience with short introductory videos, and then gave them 60 seconds each to explain why they would be the perfect fit as a housemate. After the pitches, the audience voted for their pick(s), and the remaining contestants were shown the door.
Unlike previous seasons, Bigg Boss Tamil had a pre-show, The Common Man, this time to select commoners for the main programme. This format was inspired by the Telugu Bigg Boss Agnipariksha. Show alumna Maya S Krishnan hosted The Common Man, while former contestants Oviya, Aari Arujunan, and Raju Jeyamohan served as judges. Shama, Muniyammal, and Jason Kaushi entered the house through this show.
Along with Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10, the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20, Mohanlal’s Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8, Kichcha Sudeepa’s Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13, and Nagarjuna’s Bigg Boss Telugu Season 10 also premiered on Sunday.
