RANCHI: Criminal investigation department (CID) on Tuesday arrested two relatives of Abhay Tiwari, a key accused of Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examination irregularities.CID informed that Tiwari’s wife Sushma Kumari and his brother Akshay Kumar Tiwari have been arrested as a part of the ongoing investigation in the exam scam.Notably, Abhay, an employee of the TSR Data Processing Limited, was arrested earlier in connection with alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations.His wife and brother had also qualified the JSSC common graduate level (CGL) examination, which is under investigation.The CID had also conducted an operation at the JSSC office on Monday and questioned the organization’s secretary Sudhir Gupta in connection with the case.Gupta was also quizzed by the investigation agency on Tuesday.It may be stated here that CID had registered the case in connection with JSSC CGL examination on January 1, 2025.The examination was cancelled following allegations of paper leak and a re-examination was conducted in September 2024.The candidates were also handed over appointment letters.On Monday, the Chief Minister Hemant Soren has, however, announced the annulment of the entire recruitment.Moreover, the CID has secured five-day remand of three accused persons arrested earlier in the JPSC examination irregularities namely Manoj Kumar, Roshan Kerketta and Umakant Oroan for interrogation in connection with the case.
