Japan earthquake
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck 58 km southeast of Shima, off Japan’s Mie Prefecture coast, early Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 352 km and was recorded at 22:15 UTC (3:45 am IST) on Saturday.The Japan Meteorological Agency reported tremors measuring 3 on its seven-point seismic-intensity scale in parts of Fukushima Prefecture. No tsunami warning was issued, and no immediate reports of damage or casualties were available.Further details are awaited.
