World's most-valuable company Nvidia now runs 'much more like a family business': Meet Jensen Huang's son-in-law and children who may lead it next
Jensen Huang is keeping it in the family at Nvidia

Nvidia, the world’s most valuable company, is increasingly being steered by people from Jensen Huang’s own family. His daughter Madison Huang married Nico Caprez, a former Swiss pro ski racer, in Hawaii late last month. Caprez, 35, has in under three years become one of the chipmaker’s most important executives, handling its multibillion-dollar ties with young cloud providers and data centre firms. Some Nvidia employees believe Huang, 63, is preparing the couple for a bigger leadership role, The Information reports. One employee told the publication the company runs much more like a family business than people realise, a rare setup in the tech industry. Huang’s son Spencer, 36, is also at Nvidia, working as a director of product management for robotics since 2022.

How Nico Caprez went from ski racing to Nvidia’s biggest AI deals

Caprez grew up in Switzerland’s Engadin valley and raced for his country in super-G, slalom and downhill events before retiring in 2013. He moved into consulting at Boston Consulting Group in Zurich, then studied at London Business School, where Madison was his classmate. Both graduated in 2021.Madison joined Nvidia soon after. Caprez followed in early 2024 as a corporate development manager, with Madison helping recruit him. This January, he was promoted from director to vice president of global AI infrastructure growth, skipping the senior director role entirely. His job is to keep neoclouds buying Nvidia chips. He sends them sales leads, helps them find land and power, and builds financing tools such as credit backstops. In June, he was credited with a deal to support loans for Australian neocloud Firmus to buy 170,000 Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips, worth over $15 billion. In August, he helped shape a plan with Blackstone and other Wall Street firms to raise $500 billion to finance Nvidia hardware.Huang’s trust in him shows. Brookfield’s Sikander Rashid recalled the CEO telling him, “If you want something done, talk to Nico.” A cloud executive went further and called Caprez “Jensen’s consigliere”.

Madison Huang now leads marketing for Nvidia’s robotics push

Madison was promoted in March to senior director of product marketing for physical AI, the industry term for robots and machines that act in the real world. Her role also covers Nvidia’s world models, simulation tools and open-source projects meant to draw developers to its hardware, including the Nemotron AI models. She often travels with her father to overseas meetings with supply chain partners. Not every bet is landing. Caprez’s revenue-sharing pitch to neoclouds, called the AI Compute Partnership, is being reworked after firms like Nebius turned it down, wary of leaning too heavily on Nvidia and giving up margins. On paper, both Madison and Caprez sit two levels below Huang. But as one Nvidia executive told The Information, Caprez’s closeness to the CEO matters more than his place on the org chart.
