Case filed against Mamata Banerjee over violation of Calcutta high court order
A case has been filed against Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad organisers

KOLKATA: Kolkata Police on Saturday registered a suo motu FIR against former West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for allegedly violating conditions imposed by the Calcutta high court for a Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) foundation day event.The FIR was registered at Hastings Police Station against Banerjee and the organisers of the TMCP meeting, a police officer said, news agency PTI reported.“The FIR has been registered for the alleged violation of the court’s order. The role of all those involved in the violation will be examined during the course of the investigation,” he said.The case was registered after police examined the conditions imposed by the court for the meeting, held on Cathedral Road in central Kolkata on Friday.(With agency inputs)
