3 killed, 3 injured after truck gas tank explodes at Delhi CNG station

NEW DELHI: At least six people were injured after the gas tank of a truck exploded while it was being refilled at a CNG station in Delhi’s Tikri Kalan on Wednesday, causing panic in the area.The explosion took place while the truck was at the station for refuelling. People who were nearby were injured in the blast and taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Delhi Fire Service.The fire department received information about the incident at 3.37 pm. Six fire tenders were immediately sent to the spot.

A fire service officer said all six injured people were taken to hospital, where they were receiving treatment. Further information about their condition was awaited.Fire service personnel also took precautionary measures at the station and worked to bring the situation under control.The cause of the explosion has not yet been established. An investigation is underway to determine what led to the gas tank bursting while the truck was being refilled.
