US President Donald Trump on Wednesday reiterated that he won the 2020 presidential election against Joe Biden, claiming that more than 24,000 “noncitizens” voted illegally in the polls.In a Truth Social post, Trump said the US Census Bureau had started checking voter records from 2020 against citizenship records, adding that the “SAVE America Act” must be passed.“The Census Bureau has begun checking the voter records from 2020 against their Citizenship Records. On the first 128,000,000 Voters, the Census Bureau proves that over 24,000 noncitizens voted illegally!” Trump said.“The Census Bureau is going to analyse the next 32,000,000 Voters, and this number will explode. I WON THE ELECTION! We must pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.This comes after Trump praised India’s election system and called for the passage of the SAVE America Act, which seeks to require proof of citizenship and voter identification in US elections.In another Truth Social post, Trump cited a recent conversation involving Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and highlighted India’s use of photo identification for voters.Trump said, “Earlier this month, India’s Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, asked our Administration, How can you have Elections in the US without a valid Photo ID?”Referring to India’s last general election, Trump said, “India’s last Election had 646,000,000 Voters! Less than 1 per cent voted by mail, and every single Voter had to have a VALID Photo Identity Document.”Trump also renewed his call for Congress to pass the SAVE America Act, saying, “We need to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, now!”According to the White House, the proposed legislation seeks to ensure that only US citizens are eligible to vote in federal elections. “American citizens and only American citizens should decide American elections,” the White House said, describing the bill as a “common sense, bipartisan bill.”
