Ink thrown at AISA president Neha Bora during Jharkhand students’ protest

The person who allegedly threw ink at AISA president Neha Bora during the student protest has been taken into police custody.

RANCHI: Ink was thrown at All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora during a protest in Ranchi on Friday, where she had joined job aspirants demanding action over alleged irregularities in JPSC, JSSC CGL and other competitive examinations in Jharkhand.The person who allegedly threw ink at AISA president Neha Bora during the student protest has been taken into police custody.Addressing the protesters, Bora extended her support to the agitation and demanded greater transparency and accountability in the conduct of government examinations.“Every examination conducted in Jharkhand and across the country must be conducted in a transparent and accountable manner by government institutions. Whenever a paper leak occurs, the responsibility cannot simply be passed on to private agencies. The concerned government authorities must be held accountable,” Bora told ANI.She also demanded the removal of private agencies allegedly facing allegations of irregularities and corruption from the examination system.“We demand that all private agencies involved in the system and facing allegations of irregularities and corruption must be removed. We will support the call given by students on the 10th and continue to stand for the future of students,” Bora added.“I understand the pain one feels in the body when friends go on a hunger strike. So, big congratulations to all the friends sitting on hunger strike in this stadium. The whole country is watching the struggle you are doing. From this platform, I want to give my solidarity and support to the demands of the students sitting on hunger strike here. The first demand we support is regarding the JPSC exam, where heavy corruption has come to light. JPSC, which has seen scam after scam since the first and second exams, and today in the 14th JPSC as well, we see that it is notorious across the country that if there is a JPSC exam, there will be corruption,” she said.“To have a proper system for conducting these JPSC exams, the 14th JPSC should be cancelled immediately. In its place, a re-exam date and schedule should be announced so that recruitment can happen at the right time. This is the first demand we support. The second demand is that the corruption in JSSC CGL, the brunt of which students have to bear, should also be cancelled and a re-exam should be conducted immediately, ” she added.Protesters at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium demanded the cancellation of all JSSC CGL, JSSC JE and PGT examinations conducted after 2019, along with a CBI probe into alleged irregularities. They also sought strict action against the “mafias and agencies involved”, publication of category-wise cut-offs (UR, EWS, BC-I, BC-II, SC and ST), release of OMR copies and response sheets to ensure transparency, and a recruitment calendar on the lines of UPSC and SSC.(With agency inputs)
