PDP, however, denied the charges and accused police of manhandling Iltija and injuring her. Arif Amin, a PDP functionary, said he saw Iltija trying “to peacefully reach Lal Chowk to register her protest”. “She was dragged for nearly half an hour while we were kept over 30 metres away. Every time we tried to reach her, police pushed us back, beat us.”PDP said police reached Mehbooba’s Khimber home and were questioning Iltija, who was under treatment for her injuries. “Questioning an injured person while she is under treatment raises serious concerns… Authorities must respect her medical condition and ensure that due process is followed with dignity and humanity,” it said.Mohit Bhan, a PDP spokesperson, called the FIR a blatant misuse of power and authority.
