ROHTAK: Muskan Balhara, wife of international kabaddi player Sheelu Balhara, allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Bahu Akbarpur village of Rohtak district on Friday evening.Rohtak SP Gaurav Rajpurohit said an investigation is underway and family members’ statements are being recorded. Balhara was being questioned as well but no official statement had been issued till late Friday night. Muskan’s family members staged a protest outside the house, alleging she was being harassed. A forensic team has inspected the house and collected evidence. Muskan’s body was taken to PGIMS-Rohtak.Muskan, who was from Farmana village in Meham, married Sheelu in Dec 2023. The couple has a nine-month-old son. Sheelu initially trained in judo and wrestling before taking up kabaddi at the age of six. Known as ‘Haryana Aala Cheeta’ in Punjab, Sheelu is a ‘catcher’ and has represented teams in India and abroad.
