NEW DELHI: A massive fire broke out at the Gaur Green Avenue society in Abhay Khand, Indirapuram, on Wednesday morning. Fire tenders rushed to the spot soon after the blaze was reported, as thick plumes of smoke billowed from the residential complex. Around 10 to 12 flats have been gutted in the incident, though the exact extent of the damage is still being assessed. Residents evacuated in haste as the fire spread rapidly through parts of the building. Rohit, a resident of the society, said, “Around 10–12 flats are gutted in the fire. Maybe there was some electricity issue. I do not have full information.”UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the police commissioner and the DM to rush to the spot and fast-track relief efforts. Authorities suspect a possible electrical fault may have triggered the blaze, but the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed investigation. Firefighters are currently engaged in dousing operations and ensuring the fire does not spread further.No injuries and casualties have been reported so far.(With agency inputs)
