Loud blasts followed by gunfire were heard in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday morning amid ongoing clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistani forces, Reuters reported citing sources.The violence comes days after Afghanistan’s Taliban administration said it remained open to negotiations even as tensions with Pakistan spiralled into an “open war” following Pakistani airstrikes targeting multiple Afghan cities.Pakistan carried out multiple airstrikes and bombings on Taliban-ruled Afghanistan during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Islamabad described the offensive as “Operation Ghazab Lil Haq”, saying it targeted major cities including Kabul and Kandahar and destroyed key military facilities.Afghanistan condemned the military action as “cowardly” and said there were no casualties on its side.
