Nikhil Kamath and Kishore Biyani launch The FounderyZerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath and Future Group founder Kishore Biyani have joined hands to launch The Foundery, a residential business launchpad for early-stage startups.
The initiative is aimed at helping people with an entrepreneurial mindset with mentorship and funds to build investible businesses.
Deemed to be ‘co-founder factory’ which runs through an immersive 90-day programme in Alibaug, Maharashtra, interested participants will have to pay a ₹5,000 registration fee to apply.
The Foundery counts the likes of Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Bahl and Rajan Anandan among its list of mentors.
Each business will receive up to ₹4 crore for product development, launch, and early scale while the founder will retain only up to 25 per cent in the business they help create.
“An idiot I know said high-priced MBAs might be a bad idea, so here’s something different, and if you are amongst the lucky few that get admitted, not only do you get everything you need to build a consumer brand, you don’t pay any college fees, instead you get the capital and know-how to start the brand,” wrote Kamath in a LinkedIn post.
Apart from mentorship and funding, the programme will help founders with product teams, brand teams, AI stacks, creative support, investor access in addition to wellness, fitness, nutrition and mental-health support.
