New Delhi — India has unveiled a ₹4,531 crore export support package aimed at strengthening the country’s global trade presence, with a special focus on empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The initiative is designed to help Indian exporters remain competitive in international markets by easing financial pressures and improving access to trade-related support. MSMEs, which form the backbone of India’s export ecosystem, are expected to be the primary beneficiaries of the scheme.

According to officials, the support package will assist exporters in managing costs linked to overseas trade, encourage diversification of export destinations, and promote value-added manufacturing. The move is also intended to help Indian businesses navigate global economic uncertainty and fluctuating demand.

The export boost plan aligns with the government’s broader strategy to increase India’s share in global trade, strengthen domestic manufacturing, and generate employment. By targeting MSMEs, authorities aim to ensure that smaller firms are better equipped to expand internationally and contribute to long-term export growth.

Industry stakeholders have welcomed the announcement, saying the measure could improve liquidity, enhance competitiveness, and support sustained export momentum in key sectors.

Further guidelines on implementation and sector-wise allocation are expected to be released in the coming period.
