As 2025 wound down, India’s startup funding momentum showed little sign of year-end fatigue. According to Tracxn’s India Tech Annual Funding Report 2025, startups in the country raised about $10.5 billion over the year, keeping India the world’s third-largest funded startup ecosystem after the US and the UK.

That momentum carried into the year-end, with companies across AI, deeptech, and real estate announcing fresh rounds of capital.

Zepto closes $450 million round led by US pension fund Calpers; valuation hits $7 billion

Quick commerce platform Zepto has closed a $450 million round in a mix of primary and secondary transactions. The primary funding valued the company at $7 billion, up from $5 billion ascribed to it last year.

The fundraise was led by US-based pension fund California Public Employees’ Retirement System (Calpers) and Silicon Valley venture capital fund General Catalyst, with existing backers Avenir, Gladebrook, Lightspeed, and the Stepstone group also participating in the round.

Uniphore bags $260 mn in Series F from NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks

Business AI firm Uniphore raised $260 million in a Series F funding round from tech behemoths including NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks, alongside existing investors. The round also saw participation from NEA, March Capital, BNF Capital, National Grid Partners, and Prosperity7 Ventures. The fresh investment valued the Palo Alto, California-based company at $2.5 billion.

Snapmint raises $125 million from GA, others

Mumbai-based fintech startup Snapmint raised $125 million in a fresh round of funding from US-based private equity major General Atlantic. Elev8 Venture Partners and existing investors Prudent Investment Managers, Kae Capital invested in the round as well. Founded in 2017, by IIT-Bombay batchmates Nalin Agrawal, Abhineet Sawa and Anil Gelra, Snapmint has raised $140 million since inception.Read the whole story here.

Dhan turns unicorn with close of $120 million fundraise led by Hornbill Capital

Raise Financial, the parent of stock-trading startup Dhan, closed a $120 million financing round led by Hornbill Capital, valuing the company at around $1.2 billion.

The round also saw participation from Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Beenext, and public-market investors such as Ramesh Damani, DSP Family Office, JM Financial Family Office and Aashish Somaiyaa, CEO of White Oak Capital.

Kuku FM raises $85 mn Series C led by Granite Asia

Vernacular content platform Kuku FM bagged $85 million in a Series C funding round led by Granite Asia. The round also saw participation from Vertex Growth Fund, Krafton, IFC, Paramark, Tribe Capital India, and Bitkraft.

Founded in 2018, Kuku operates KukuTV, which offers long-form stories in bite-sized vertical micro drama episodes, and Kuku FM, which features audio shows across entertainment and knowledge categories.

Prosperr.io raises $4 mn seed round led by Jungle Ventures

Fintech SaaS startup Prosperr.io raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Jungle Ventures, with participation from Yatra Angel Network, Sadev Ventures, and other strategic investors.

Founded in 2022 by Manas Gond and Dev Kumar, Prosperr.io offers AI-driven tax management infrastructure for both individuals and enterprises.

Rotoris raises $3mn from Zerodha’s Nikhil Kamath, Venture Catalysts, others

Analog watch company Rotoris raised $3 million in a seed funding round with participation from Nikhil Kamath, Vivek Anand Oberoi, Venture Catalysts, 100 Unicorns and Tanmay Bhat, among others.

Other participants in the round included Varun Alagh of Mamaearth, Gaurav Khatri of Noise, Akash Gupta of Zypp and Arjun Vaidya. Founded by Aakash Anand, founder of Bella Vita Organic, along with Prerna Gupta, the startup aims to build a watch brand with a focus on in-house engineering, manufacturing and global distribution.

Alongside large funding rounds, 2025 also saw investors formalise their approach to backing AI-led companies. Early-stage venture firm Stellaris Venture Partners said it plans to deploy $100 million to $150 million from its third, $300-million fund into AI-native companies.

Similarly, Haptik cofounder Aakrit Vaish and former principal investor at Together Fund Pratyush Choudhury announced Activate, a new $75 million fund aimed at backing deep technical founders in India at the early stages.

The fund has brought on board India and US-based names as limited partners including Indian-origin billionaire Vinod Khosla and Aravind Srinivas of Perplexity.
