Founded in 2022 by former IIT Delhi alumni Shaurya Gupta, Divyansh Ameta, and Chandan Yadav, the Gurugram-based startup enables creators to drive commerce via their content.Creator commerce platform Wishlink has raised $17.5 million in a round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, with participation from existing investors Fundamentum and Elevation Capital.
The startup plans to use the funds to expand its creator and brand network and invest in technology to enhance its creator tools.
Founded in 2022 by former IIT Delhi alumni Shaurya Gupta, Divyansh Ameta, and Chandan Yadav, the Gurugram-based startup enables creators to drive commerce via their content.
“Four years ago, we started this platform to solve the problem consumers face in finding what they need amid millions of products on ecommerce platforms,” Ameta told ET. “Soon, it became a three-sided marketplace as we kept going deeper to solve problems for all three stakeholders. Now, we have become an end-to-end platform for creators and brands.”
The platform currently has about 40,000 active monthly creators with over 500 brands and marketplaces, including ecommerce platforms like Amazon, Meesho, and Myntra.
Wishlink has tools for creators to streamline the entire process — from planning content, getting products, attaching links, earning money, to managing finances. For brands, it offers a range of creators to choose from for their products and campaigns.
Wishlink has raised about $27.5 million so far.
The startup is on course to close this financial year with Rs 150 crore in revenues and should be able to breakeven in a few months, according to Ameta.
Commenting on the funding, Nikhil Marwaha, partner, investment, Vertex Ventures SEA and India, said, “Consumer behaviour is shifting towards influencer-led discovery and purchase, which is driving rapid growth of the creator economy in India.”
Wishlink competes with the likes of Nikhil Kamath’s Gruhas-backed Lehlah and New Delhi-based Hypd.
Creator commerce is gaining momentum as ecommerce platforms like Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, and Amazon are expanding their influencer-led video presence. In November, Myntra announced that its creator-led content contributed 10% of its overall revenues.
