The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI), in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh government, will host a BRICS business conclave in Dharamshala in March. This event aligns with India’s 2026 BRICS presidency theme, ‘Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability’. The conclave aims to foster co-investment, technology transfer, supply chain partnerships, and explore export market opportunities among BRICS nations and partner economies.
Industry leaders, investors, and trade bodies will convene at the summit. Key focus sectors include pharmaceuticals, food processing, green mobility, renewable energy, tourism, textiles and handlooms, IT or AI-enabled services, and agriculture value chains.
BRICS CCI chairperson Harvansh Chawla highlighted the significance of this partnership.
“This is our first partnership with a hill state. Himachal Pradesh uniquely combines competitiveness with sustainability, attracting global investors. The Dharamshala summit will serve as a catalyst for translating business opportunities into tangible investments.”
Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his optimism regarding the collaboration.
“This partnership opens new avenues for global capital, technology, and markets. The Dharamshala event will showcase the state’s sectoral strengths and accelerate green, inclusive growth for entrepreneurs and MSMEs.”
This partnership marks BRICS CCI’s first tie-up with a hill state. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of commitment (MoC) during the HIM MSME Fest 2026 in Shimla.
An early outcome of this partnership has been the facilitation of a Russian investment exceeding Rs 500 crore in Himachal Pradesh’s pharmaceuticals sector, according to the state industries department. The conclave is expected to explore various avenues for economic growth and cooperation.
