In yet another celebrity wedding, model-turned-actor Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, who rose to fame with her appearance in the Kamal Haasan-hosted Tamil reality television series Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, has tied the knot with former cricketer Anirudha Srikkanth. The intimate ceremony was held in Chennai on Thursday, November 27, with the couple’s close friends and family in attendance.
The duo themselves announced the news of their union on social media, sharing glimpses of their special day with their fans. While Samyuktha wore a gold-coloured saree with temple jewellery for the occasion, Anirudha was spotted sort of twinning with her in a gold-shaded shirt and dhoti.

After being crowned Miss Chennai in 2007, Samyuktha became a noted name in the mini-screen circuit, appearing in several commercials. She eventually began receiving acting jobs in soap operas, and her performance in the serial Chandrakumari earned attention. Subsequently, Samyuktha appeared in movies such as Oolu, Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale, Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlaq Durbar, and ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Varisu.
The son of former cricketer and coach Krishnamachari Srikkanth, who was part of the Indian team that won the 1983 World Cup, Anirudha made his first-class debut in the early 2000s. He played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) between 2008 and 2013. Though he joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad later, Anirudha did not find luck there. Subsequently, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began focusing on cricket commentary.
Interestingly, this is the second marriage for both Samyuktha and Anirudha. According to India Today, she was previously married to tech entrepreneur Karthik Shankar, and their divorce was finalised earlier this year. The two have a son together. Anirudha, meanwhile, was married to model and socialite Arthi Venkatesh. The two parted ways early last decade, just two years after tying the knot.
