That is why India needs a risk-based approach to AI regulation. High-risk uses of AI should have strong checks, transparency and accountability. Low-risk ones should be allowed to grow and innovate freely.
This kind of regulation is practical and fair as it protects people without stopping progress.
Putting People First
AI regulation should always focus on people. It should protect privacy, fairness and dignity. Rules should exist to make sure AI is used responsibly and does not harm individuals or communities.Trust is key. If people trust AI systems, they will adopt them. The goal of AI regulation should not be control for the sake of control. It should be about using AI safely, responsibly and for the benefit of everyone. If India gets this right, it can lead the way in how AI is governed in the years to come.
